Flights
Out of the many companies that fly to Cyprus, we have always found Cyprus Airways and Monarch airline to be the most reasonable to fly with. Monarch airline seems even cheaper if you fly to Larnaca airport, Cyprus. Prices range from £120 to £250 depending on the time of year. There are numerous airlines that fly to Cyprus that is why we have only recommended these two, so please shop around for the best deal.
You can reach the Sofilia Holiday Apartments in Cyprus from most UK airports. The flying time to Cyprus is about 4 hours & you should take into account that Cyprus is 2 hours ahead of UK time. There are two international airports in Cyprus, the closest to the Sofilia Holiday Apartments is Paphos international a 15min drive and costs about £20 in a taxi. The other airport is Larnaca which is a 90min drive from the Sofilia Holiday Apartments and costs about £60.
Driving
As in the United Kingdom, cars are right-hand drive and driven on the left in Cyprus; signs are displayed in Greek and English. A valid driver's license from your home country or an international driver's license permits you to drive legally in Cyprus. The extensive network of roads and motorways makes driving convenient and safe.
Electricity
The Sofilia Holiday Apartments is 240 volts; Like the UK, sockets are 13 amp square pin type, no need for adapters.
Banks
Cypriot banks provide full banking services and accept all major cards. ATMs are widely available. There are plenty of banks close to the Sofilia Holiday Apartments.

Currency
Cyprus adopted the Euro from 1 January 2008.
Currency exchange is available at Banks and some shops. You will generally get a better rate locally in Cyprus than in the UK. To check the current exchange rates.
Shopping
Shop opening hours are usually 8am - 6pm but with half days on Wednesday & Saturday in Cyprus. Most shops are closed on Sunday with the exception of most kiosks. In Paphos Cyprus there are supermarkets, chemists, clothes shops (including Debenhams and Next) etc.
Medical Facilities
Medical facilities are provided through the National Health run general hospitals in all resort towns, including Paphos. Emergencies for tourists are free. In addition there are private clinics which cater for all medical needs, at a charge.
Make sure that you carry your insurance policy with you. Some chemists remain open all night on a rota basis.
Communication
The Cyprus telephone and postal system are highly efficient. Local English language newspapers as well as those from Britain and other European countries are widely available in Cyprus.
